Maner Costerisan Names Bill Tucker, CPA, to Board of Directors, Announces Firm-wide Promotions and New Hires

LANSING, Mich. – Maner Costerisan, a top regional business consulting and public accounting firm based in Lansing, Mich., announced various promotions and welcomed several new faces this week.

Effective January 1, 2022, Bill Tucker, CPA and audit partner, was named to the firm’s board of directors. Bill brings more than 20 years of experience specializing in government and nonprofit auditing and consulting to Maner Costerisan. Since joining the firm through a merger with Stevens, Kirinovic & Tucker P.C. (SKT) in early 2019, he’s helped spearhead tremendous growth throughout the government division, which he leads.

“Bill is always looking for innovative solutions to help our clients achieve their goals,” said Maner Costerisan president Trey Williams. “He brings additional leadership, ideas, and energy to the board.”

In addition to Bill’s new role, several other team members received promotions at the beginning of the year:

Courtney Bean, CPA, was promoted to senior manager in the firm’s audit department. A graduate of Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Accounting and Master of Business Administration in Value-Driven Organization, Courtney began her career with Maner in 2012. She supports the firm’s cannabis, nonprofit, and affordable housing clients.

Amber Rathbun, CPA, was promoted to senior manager in tax. Amber joined Maner in 2014 and supports the firm’s nonprofit team. She graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Master of Science in Accounting.

Jessica Hengesbach, CPA, (Accounting) and Sammy Schrauben, CPA, (Tax) were promoted to managers at the beginning of the new year.

Jessica started as an intern at Maner in 2016 and joined the team in a full-time capacity in 2018. She graduated from Michigan State University with a Master of Science degree and Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.

Sammy joined Maner in 2017 in the accounting and outsourced department. She graduated from Michigan State University with a Master of Science in Accounting degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.

James Fulghum, CPA, and Ryan Johnson, CPA, also were promoted to managers in the firm’s audit department.

James joined Maner in 2017 after working with the Michigan Department of the Auditor General. A graduate of Alma College with a bachelor’s degree in Professional Accounting, James provides assurance support to Maner’s affordable housing, education, and nonprofit clients.

Ryan graduated from Michigan State University with a Master of Science degree and Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He has been with Maner since 2018, supporting the firm’s telecommunications and education clients. Ryan also manages the firm’s softball and flag football teams.

In addition to the promotions noted above, Maner Costerisan welcomed the following individuals to the team:

At the beginning of the year, Will Kwiecinski joined the firm as a full-time associate on the tax team. A recent graduate of Aquinas College, he worked as an intern supporting the tax department in 2021.

Abby Murray joined the firm as a full-time associate in the accounting & outsourced department. Abby also served as an intern in 2021. She is a graduate of Grand Valley State University.

Kristy Roeder, CPA, is a manager in the tax department. Kristy joins Maner with over 15 years of experience in tax preparation and advisory services. She graduated from Michigan State University with a Master of Science in Accounting degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.

Heather Farmer is a governmental finance specialist in the firm’s accounting & outsourced department. She joins the firm with more than ten years of experience and is a graduate of Walsh College with a Master of Science in Finance and Bachelor of Business Administration.

Debi Staskus, CPA, MBA, is a manager in the accounting and outsourced solutions department. She joins the firm with more than 15 years of experience and is a graduate of Franklin University with a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.

David Wood is a new associate on the firm’s tax team. He graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.

Jerry Yin is a new associate in Maner’s tax department. Jerry graduated from Michigan State University, Eli Broad College of Business with a Master of Science in Accounting.

Ryan Koshko is a new associate in Maner’s audit department. Ryan graduated from Davenport University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.

Lyndsey Fleser joins the firm as a part-time school finance manager in the accounting and outsourced department. A graduate of the University of Nebraska with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Lyndsey brings more than 20 years of experience in school finance to Maner’s education team.

Tamara Kurtz is a new associate in the accounting & outsourced department. She brings more than 20 years of experience to the firm’s accounting team.

Gary Loew is a part-time fraud risk advisor in the accounting and outsourced department. Gary is a graduate of Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and Corrections.

Ryan Slamka joins the firm as an associate in the audit department. Ryan is a graduate of Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Finance.
